During the green route in Kanne, you climb to one of the most beautiful views of the limestone landscape of Riemst.
Take a moment to pause. While you enjoy the view from Tiendeberg, just below you is an extensive network of tunnels left behind in the limestone layer that you just climbed.
Short Walk
This 4.9-kilometer route starts at the parking lot in Steenstraat in Kanne. Along the way, you’ll pass by the Kanne Caves, several war monuments, and a magnificent view of the white village of Kanne. Near the starting and ending points of the route, you will find a new picnic spot by the Albertkanaal. Ideal for taking a break or enjoying the surroundings during or after the walk.
Maastricht and Wallonia
During the walk, you’ll be just shy of crossing the language border. And you’ll also catch a glimpse of the Netherlands: Chateau Neercanne, several churches in Maastricht, and the old chimney of the ENCI quarry.
